I would like to use Chaste to simulate some cardiac electrophysiology on a realistic geometry and thus I would like to run my code in parallel.
I know that I can use the mpirun command to run my code in parallel. But, as far as I know, MPI is used for distributed memory parallelization. However, the server structure on which I want to run the code seems more suited for shared memory parallelization. Each blade already consists of 16 cores, which probably are enough and thus shared memory parallelization should be more efficient by reducing communication overhead. Thus my question is: is it possible to use shared memory parallelization with Chaste?
